ABOUT US

Mid Coast Mental Health Services (MCMHS): A Guide for the Community for accessible, affordable, and equitable mental health care.

MCMHS was established to ensure fair and equal services across the Hastings, Macleay, and Camden Haven regions. MCMHS highly values the diversity of cultural populations and emphasizes addressing the unique needs and beliefs of individuals.

MCMHS works closely with clients, their caregivers, and families, providing advocacy and support when interacting with professionals such as GPs, psychiatrists, and psychologists. The focus is on developing practical strategies to overcome any obstacles to recovery while maintaining the rights of clients through a supported decision-making process.

About Michael Easton

Michael Easton is the Director of Mid Coast Health Pty Ltd and a Credentialed Mental Health Nurse. He is dedicated to providing targeted mental health services based on a flexible and personalised coaching model of care, focusing on the local community.

Throughout his nursing career, Michael has prioritized changing the way we interact with clients by incorporating compassion, empathy, and values-based principles. He promotes healing and recovery for individuals facing emotional and psychological challenges.

As a Credentialed member (#2461) of the Australian College of Mental Health Nurses (ACMHN), Michael has achieved nationally recognized qualifications. This allows him to practice privately, hold government contracts through NCPHN, possess Medicare provider licensing, and be registered with NDIS.

Michael's comprehensive care extends to various mental health disorders such as depression, anxiety, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, and AOD dependencies. He integrates evidence-based practices into his service delivery, continuously developing his professional skills.

With vast experience in high acuity and complex mental health presentations, Michael supports clients, caregivers, and families in fostering safe and non-judgmental environments. He values the importance of "lived (and learned) experience" in establishing trust and clear understanding between clients and clinicians.

Michael finds mental health nursing deeply rewarding and aims to make a significant positive impact on his clients' lives. By listening to the community's experiences and expectations, MCMHS is committed to providing accessible, affordable, and equitable mental health care services.
